Once Beautiful Past is officially picture
wrap!
We completed our 16th day of production last night and
will be promptly entering the post production phase. We had a long
road of production with many locations (from Benicia to San Mateo and places in
between), 15 picture cars, over 40 scenes that take place over four days in the
story - including Thanksgiving, a cast of thirteen, twenty plus extras,
and next step, festival searches begin.
October 2007
We just completed negotiations with Bill at the Roxie Theater to hold our Cast & Crew screening! Thanks for your patience. We will be holding the Cast & Crew screening in the main room at the Roxie theater in San Francisco on:
Sunday, October 28th from
12:00pm to 2:00pm.
Please plan to be
there at noon so we can ensure a prompt program. The total running time
for the film is 40 minutes.
A Q&A with the filmmaker will
immediately follow the screening.
Once Beautiful Past has not be reviewed by the
Motion Pictures Association of America butfor the purposes of our general audience,
the film is rated R for brief nudity, situational violence, and some harsh
language.
November 2007
The final edit of the film is finished!
Special thanks to our editor, Aaron for all his hard work and especially for bringing so much to the SPECIAL EXTRAS section of the DVD. We'll be putting the DVD package together and planning for a DVD release party very soon. Stay tuned! Contact us if you are interested in purchasing your own copy or multiple copies of the film.
December 2007
We've contacted the folks at the WPA (http://www.wpafilmlibrary.com/) to extend our original stock footage licensing agreement to include World Wide rights. By the end of the year we'll be able to submit to film festivals and contests outside the U.S. We're very interested in Canada, as some of you know, and will be researching at the festival portal (www.withoutabox.com) to ensure maximum exposure.
If you haven't done so already please drop by our AUDIENCE page at the withoutabox portal at http://audience.withoutabox.com/films/oncebeautifulpast. You'll find a blog section, links to other films, our own personal filmmaker pages, and soon the official OBP TRAILER.

Happy New Year!
We are recovering from the holidays in our own way and as such have had a few set backs with our original goal of having the finished DVD completed by the end of 2007. Excuses aside, I hope you find the extras we've assembled a small consolation for the added time we need to finalize the authoring and replication. We've put together a wonderful special features section.
As many of you know, we started the festival circuit in November of 2007 with our first submission to the South by Southwest Film festival in Austin, Texas. You can find more information about the festival at www.sxsw.com. Since we've compiled quite a list of festivals and only recently I decided to upgrade our original license agreement for the stock footage used in the film to include worldwide festival submission rights. Our first step now that we can submit OBP outside the U.S is Canada, of course for those of you who know my appreciation of our Northern brother and sisters, as well as France, the U.K., and Puerto Rico. For those of you who are familiar with the world of film festival submissions, there are literally hundreds of festivals happening all year long and we're looking at submitting to as many as we can.
In other news, our location and post sound mixer John LaRosa found out that an Independent feature he worked on called Glory Boy Days, www.gloryboydays.com was accepted to Slamdance ( http://slamdance.bside.com/?_view=_filmdetails&filmId=43429912 ) this year! Congratulations to him and writer/director Paul Encinas for their success. If any of you are able to attend please do. Paul and John deserve the support, they're great guys. And if you can visit the Slamdance site you too can help generate some buzz for their film.
