Les Walters

Les has worked at KBL, a local public news channel, for three years. Before that he held a staff position at an independent newspaper office where his ambition for journalism resulted in a change in careers and the end of a long and tumultuous marriage. Two weeks after landing anchor at KBL his divorce was finalized and his daughter, April and estranged wife moved to the East coast.

Considering a change lately, and affected by the Iran Hostage Crisis story, he too has been touched to reach out to his daughter who he hasn't spoken to since last February. It's been nearly a year since but with each special report he gets closer to picking up the telephone, of getting off the air because the person in the box, the face he's stares at in the monitor, reminds him too often of the dad he hasn't been and the one he so desperately wants to be.
